Soundreach Musical Group

Soundreach musical group begins new session Congratulations to all of the performers who provided a wonderful afternoon of entertainment at the winter Soundreach concert. Soundreach is a performing musical group for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. The group meets on Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 5002 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Cost of the program is $20 for a 13-week session. February 10—NIGHT TO SHINE--DAVENPORT

What: A prom night for people with special needs, ages 14+

The Augustana College Speech and Language Clinic students are sponsoring a "Winter Wonderland" (indoor) event for persons ages 16-40 who have disabilities.
What: A fun evening of friendship, fun, music and dancing, games, snacks, photo booth, and winter-themed surprises!
For Whom: Individuals with disabilities ages 16-40
Where: Pepsico Center at Augustana College 1025-30th St. in Rock Island
When: 6:30-8:30 PM, Friday, March 10,2017
Charge: Free! This community event is funded by the Augustana College Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
How to Register? Clients of Hand-in-Hand should register through Hand-in-Hand. Other participants should RSVP by sending the following information to Dr. Allison Haskill at allisonhaskill@augustana.edu:

MARCH 23—ROYAL BALL RUN TACO NIGHT FUNDRAISER

What: Deluxe Taco Meals available prepared by Adolph's Mexican Foods. Donations will be accepted. Bake Sale, race registrations, fun raffle items, "Light it Up Blue". All proceeds will benefit Quad Cities area autism programs and efforts to increase autism awareness. Presented by the Royal Ball Run.
When: 5pm-7pm
Where: Milan's Camden Centre 2701 1st Street E, Milan

APRIL 1—AUTISM AWARENESS WALK

What: The annual Autism Awareness walk presented by the Autism Society of the Quad Cities. The event includes an indoor walk, information tables, a DJ, face-painting, food, and activities for children.
When: 9:00 a.m. - Noon
Where: The Pepsico Center, 1025 30th Street at Augustana College in Rock Island.
Charge: There is no charge to attend.

APRIL 13—SHOWING OF “THE SWIM TEAM”

What: “The Swim Team is an inspiring documentary film about a swim team made up of teem boys on the autism spectrum whose parents organized a competitive swim team for them.
When: 6:30 p.m.
Where: Putnam Museum Theater 1717 W. 12th Street Davenport
Charge: There is no charge to attend. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Collaborators: The Autism Society of the Quad Cities will present this film. Collaborators are Hand in Hand and the Royal Ball Run for Autism.

MAY 6—GANZO's 5K

The Ganzo's 5K Race on Saturday, May 6 benefits the Autism Society of the Quad Cities.  A "sombrero shuffle" for children begins at 8:30 a.m. The race will start at 9:00 a.m. at Ganzo's Mexican Restaurant, 3923 N. Marquette, Davenport. 

Stay afterwards for a great after-race party, one of the largest Cinco de Mayo celebrations in the Midwest. 

Proceeds from the race benefit the Autism Society of the Quad Cities. We use the proceeds to help out persons on the autism spectrum. Come join us for a fun time that help the persons o the autism spectrum who are so important to us all!
